Itinerary at a glance 

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

  • Meet & greet upon arrival into Delhi. 
  • Proceed to the hotel 
  • Check in time is 1400 hrs 
  • Overnight at the hotel 

Day 2: Delhi

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Morning explore Old Delhi including a drive past the Red Fort, a visit to Jama Masjid and a cycle rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk. 
  • Afternoon explore New Delhi including Lutyen’s Delhi, government buildings with a photo stop at India Gate, visit Gandhi Smriti Museum & Humayun’s Tomb 
  • Optional Enhancement: Visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib & learn about the Sikh religion. Visit the community kitchen and partake in cooking & food distribution activity.  
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 3: Delhi  - Agra

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Morning drive to Agra – Approximately 5 hrs driving time 
  • Arrive and proceed to your hotel 
  • Lunch on own expense 
  • Afternoon visit the Agra Fort  
  • Optional Enhancement: Visit a marble inlay unit. 
  • Sunset visit to the Taj Mahal (Taj Mahal is closed for visitors on Friday)

Day 4: Agra – Kalakho - Jaipur

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Morning drive to Kalakho – Approximately 4 hrs driving time 
  • Visit Abhaneri Stepwell. 
  • Arrive and proceed to your hotel 
  • Optional Enhancement: Saree tying & turban tying at the hotel at Kalakho.

Day 5: Jaipur

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Morning visit Amber Fort with an elephant ride* / jeep ride (Subject to availability) 
  • Lunch on own expense 
  • Afternoon proceed for city tour which will include a visit to City palace and royal observatory.  
  • Optional Enhancement: Enjoy a guided tour through the local spice market 
  • Optional Enhancement: Cooking demonstration followed by dinner at Sankotra Haveli or similar

Day 6: Jaipur – Kolkata by flight

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Morning in time transfer to the airport for flight to Kolkata.  
  • Hotel check in time 1200 Hours. 
  • Upon arrival Kolkata, meeting & assistance and transfer to the hotel. 
  • Check in at the hotel.

Day 7: Kolkata

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Morning visit to the Flower Market, Howrah Bridge, Kalighat Kali Temple, Kumartuli (The Potter’s colony), Tagore House (Closed on Mondays & National holidays), College Street Book Market (Closed On Sundays) and Indian Coffee House (Closed On Sundays). 
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 8: Kolkata

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Morning explore the city including Dalhousie Square (Covering Raj Bhavan, St. John’s church, High Court, GPO Town Hall, Writer’s Building and other important colonial buildings). 
  • You will also visit St. Paul’s Cathedral Church, Victoria Memorial (Closed on Mondays & National holidays), Indian Museum (Closed on Mondays & National holidays), South Park Street Cemetery and Mother House (Closed on Thursdays & National holidays) and Nahoum Bakery 
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 9: Kolkata – Bagdogra by flight - Darjeeling

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • After breakfast, in time transfer to the airport for flight to Bagdogra. 
  • Upon arrival Bagdogra, meet & greet upon arrival and proceed for Darjeeling. 
  • Upon arrival Darjeeling, check in at the hotel. 
  • Remainder of the day at leisure for independent activities. 
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 10: Darjeeling

  • Early this morning, proceed to Tiger Hill to witness sunrise.  
  • On your way back, visit Ghoom Monastery.  
  • Arrive at the hotel for breakfast. 
  • After breakfast, proceed to enjoy toy train ride followed by Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Himalayan Zoo & Tibetan refugee help centre. 
  • Afternoon visit Tea Garden & Tea Factory to understand the process of tea manufacturing. 
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 11: Darjeeling – Gangtok

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • After breakfast, proceed for Gangtok. 
  • Afternoon at leisure and enjoy a walking tour. 
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 12: Gangtok

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • After breakfast, proceed to visit Rumtek Monastery. 
  • Afternoon visit Enchey Monastery and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.  
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 13: Gangtok – Kalimpong

  • Early this morning visit Tashi View Point to witness sunrise over Mount Kangchenjunga. 
  • Return to hotel for breakfast. 
  • After breakfast, proceed for Kalimpong.  
  • Upon arrival Kalimpong, check in at your hotel. 
  • Afternoon proceed for a walking tour. 
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 14: Kalimpong – Bagdogra & fly to Delhi

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • After breakfast, proceed to Bagdogra, in time for your flight to Delhi. 
  • Upon arrival Delhi, meeting & assistance and transfer to the hotel for wash & chanhe (optional).  
  • This evening in time transfer to the international airport for flight to onward destination. 
  • Overnight at the hotel B 

Day 15: Departure Delhi

  • Depart Delhi by International flight. 

Important Information

Visa/Entry Permit

  • All visitors coming to India should have a valid passport and an Indian visa prior to arrival. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your expected date of return from India.
  • Your passport should have at least two blank pages that could be used for stamping by the Immigration Officer. Additionally if you are planning to visit restricted areas like in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands etc., the visa must also include permission to visit these places.
  • Tourist e-Visa (valid for 60 days) is available for more than 150 nationalities, so you can also check if you are eligible for that. e-Visa charges vary between USD 10 – USD 35 depending on the traveling period & duration. If you were planning a longer visit, then a standard six-month tourist visa would be required.

Dos and Don'ts

  • The traditional way of greeting and bidding farewell to anyone is by saying ‘Namaste’.
  • Elders should be treated with respect.
  • Public displays of affection is discouraged, though holding hands is still acceptable.
  • Women in particular should dress modestly and avoid low-cut tops, shorts and skirts above knee-length.
  • Remian conscious & careful of how different gender and relationships may impact interactions.
  • Take photographs of people or objects only after receiving permission.
  • When visiting any religious building or entering an Indian home remove the footwear outside.
  • Only eat food with the right hand as eating with left hand is considered unclean. However, one can use the left hand for holding utensils and cutlery.
  • Feet and shoes are considered dirty so dont step on any person as it is condidered disrespectful.
  • Don’t encourage beggars by giving them money. If you want to help then you can do so by reaching out to approved charities.
  • Most Indians tend to engage in friendly banter and light teasing and it is not a mark of disrespect so you can enjoy a light-hearted sense of humour.
