Itinerary at a glance 

Day 1: Sunday - Board the Maharajas’ Express in Delhi to Agra

  • Welcome aboard the Maharajas' Express.
  • This morning, assemble at Delhi Safdarjung station at approximately 0700 hours.
  • The Maharajas’ Express departs Delhi at 0815 hours for Agra. Enjoy breakfast and lunch on-board as you arrive into Agra.
  • Visit the world famous Taj Mahal (one of the Seven Wonders of the World).
  • Return to the Maharajas’ Express.
  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on-board.
  • Overnight on the Maharajas’ Express.

Day 2: Monday - Agra to Ranthambore

  • Early this morning, disembark to visit the exquisite Agra Fort.
  • Later, enjoy relaxed breakfast on-board as you travel to your next destination Ranthambore.
  • Lunch shall be served on-board.
  • Arrive into Ranthambore and proceed for a game drive in the Ranthambore National Park.
  • The safari is carried out in open vehicles and the ride is quite bumpy and dusty.
  • Return to the Maharajas’ Express.
  • Dinner on-board as the Maharajas’ Express proceeds for Jaipur.
  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on-board.
  • Overnight on the Maharajas’ Express.

Day 3: Tuesday- Jaipur

  • Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on-board.
  • Following disembarkation and a grand traditional welcome, begin your exciting tour of the pink city with a visit to Amber Fort.
  • A short jeep ride takes you up to the fort where you will enjoy a tour of the royal apartments.
  • Return to the train for a leisurely lunch on-board.
  • Post lunch, you relax onboard.
  • Later in evening, proceed for an exclusive dinner at the Rambagh Palace Hotel.
  • Afterwards, return to the station by 2100 hours.
  • Maharajas’ Express proceeds for Bikaner.
  • Breakfast and Lunch on-board.
  • Dinner at Rambagh Palace Hotel.
  • Overnight on the Maharajas’ Express.

Day 4: Wednesday - Delhi

  • Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on-board as the train arrives into Delhi.
  • Disembark at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station at around 1000 hrs.

Notes

  • All ‘Optionals’ / ‘Optional Tours’ are on chargeable basis and are subject to availability. Details and pricing will be made available on-board during the journey.
  • The itineraries and timings are subject to change, due to factors beyond our control such as 'force majeure' events, strikes, fairs, festivals, sport events, weather conditions, disruptions/diversions of rail services, re-routing of railway, closure of / restricted entry at a place of sightseeing, non availability of venues etc.
  • The tour will generally be organised as per details given above. However you may please check any changes in the program/timings provided in the travel document during check in formalities and/or Check with Train General Manager during the tour for any last minute changes/updates.

Visa/Entry Permit

  • All visitors coming to India should have a valid passport and an Indian visa prior to arrival. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your expected date of return from India.
  • Your passport should have at least two blank pages that could be used for stamping by the Immigration Officer. Additionally if you are planning to visit restricted areas like in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands etc., the visa must also include permission to visit these places.
  • Tourist e-Visa (valid for 60 days) is available for more than 150 nationalities, so you can also check if you are eligible for that. e-Visa charges vary between USD 10 – USD 35 depending on the traveling period & duration. If you were planning a longer visit, then a standard six-month tourist visa would be required.
  • Visa / Entry Permit is subject to change and depends on the Government policy. Our team will provide you with the exact details on your query about this important & crucial aspect of your travel.

Dos and Don'ts

  • The traditional way of greeting and bidding farewell to anyone is by saying ‘Namaste’.
  • Elders should be treated with respect.
  • Public displays of affection is discouraged, though holding hands is still acceptable.
  • Women in particular should dress modestly and avoid low-cut tops, shorts and skirts above knee-length.
  • Remian conscious & careful of how different gender and relationships may impact interactions.
  • Take photographs of people or objects only after receiving permission.
  • When visiting any religious building or entering an Indian home remove the footwear outside.
  • Only eat food with the right hand as eating with left hand is considered unclean. However, one can use the left hand for holding utensils and cutlery.
  • Feet and shoes are considered dirty so dont step on any person as it is condidered disrespectful.
  • Don’t encourage beggars by giving them money. If you want to help then you can do so by reaching out to approved charities.
  • Most Indians tend to engage in friendly banter and light teasing and it is not a mark of disrespect so you can enjoy a light-hearted sense of humour.
