Itinerary at a glance 

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu

  • Arrive Kathmandu – TBA 
  • Upon arrival, you will be transferred to The Dwarika’s Hotel (www.dwarikas.com)  
  • Check-in time is 1400 hrs 
  • In the late afternoon, visit Swoyambhunath 
  • Dinner at Krishnarpan Restaurant in the hotel 
  • Overnight stay at Hotel 

Day 2: Kathmandu

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • In the morning, visit Boudhanath 
  • In the afternoon, visit the Buddhist Tibetan Monasteries in and around Boudhanath 
  • In the late afternoon, visit Tibetan Buddhist Thank Painting Workshop 
  • Overnight stay at Hotel 

Day 3: Kathmandu

  • Early in the morning, Mount Everest Experience with Breakfast 
  • Lunch at the hotel 
  • Visit Maiti Nepal and interaction 
  • Overnight stay at Hotel 

Day 4: Kathmandu

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • In the morning, visit Patan, city of fine arts 
  • In the late afternoon, visit the Singing Bowl Workshop 
  • Then you will visit Pashupatinath with Aarati 
  • Overnight stay at Hotel 

Day 5: Kathmandu - Dhulikhel

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • In the morning, visit Bamboo School 
  • In the afternoon, visit the Bhaktapur with local home visit for a cooking class at the family’s kitchen followed by lunch and interaction. 
  • Then you will drive to Dhulikhel (approximately 32 Kms / 1 Hour)

Day 6: Dhulikhel

  • Breakfast at the resort 
  • Full day retreat at the resort 
  • Overnight stay at resort 

Day 7: Depart Dhulikhle - Kathmandu

  • Breakfast at the hotel 
  • Later in time drive to the Kathmandu airport for flight to your onward destination. Our representative will help you with exit formalities and then bid you farewell.

  • We will notify about the school holidays, if any and fine tune the program accordingly. 
  • Heli Tour of Everest Base Camp depends on the weather of that day and cannot be predicted in advance. Our office will notify you of any changes, if any of the day of travel.

Temple Visit

  • Any Buddhist Temple or Stupa should be pass over clockwise. It is customary to eat, handle food, gifts money, etc… with your right hand.  
  • It is considerate impolite to 
  • Point the sales of one’s feet at any one or toward alters, holy objects, people or a family’s fire. 
  • Physically demonstrative in public – especially between people of the opposite sex. 
  • Some temples allow Non – Hindus to enter the temple complex but have certain restricted areas. 
  • Pashupatinath Temple does not allow Non-Hindus to enter the temple complex but allow viewing from a designated platform but they could easily witness cremation ceremony. 
  • Proper attire is required to visit the sacred sites. Full sleeves shirts and trousers are a must. Dress appropriately while visiting monasteries and temples.  Shoes must be removed prior to entering the temples.  
  • Prior consumption of alcohol before a visit to a temple is strictly prohibited. 
  • Kindly request for permission before taking photographs in a monastery. Some temples and monasteries may not allow the use of a camera flash. This is important for the preservation of the wall paintings. 

Visa/Entry Permit

  • A visa for Nepal can be obtained on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and at other border entry points. The Department of Immigration, Nepal has been encouraging more tourists’ visits by providing ‘Visa on Arrival’, which is a quick and simple procedure.
  • In other countries, a visa can also be obtained from the Nepal Embassy or Diplomatic Mission. The Nepali Visa fee, which is USD 30 for 15 days, has to be paid in cash.
  • Visa / Entry Permit is subject to change and depends on the Government policy. Our team will provide you with the exact details on your query about this important & crucial aspect of your travel.

Dos and Don'ts

  • The common gesture for greeting anyone in Nepal is by saying ‘Namaste’ and putting the palms together in a prayer-like gesture.
  • Major Hindu temples are usually off-limits for foreigners, So don’t enter them unless the permission is given also do not take any leather articles inside the temple area as they are prohibited.
  • Before entering a Nepalese home, temple or monastery do remember to remove your shoes outside.
  • Walking inside the temples or stupas is traditionally done clockwise direction.
  • Men should not walk/trek around bare-chested. Shorts are acceptable but long pants are better considering the weather and topography. Women are also recommended to wear long skirts or pants.
  • Eat only using your right hand as eating with your left hand is considered unhygienic. Consuming beef is strictly prohibited among Hindus.
  • Most Nepalese directly use their fingers to eat and using spoons or forks is not common, however you may do so if you are comfortable with it.
  • Public display of affection is frowned upon so avoid any such acts in public.
  • Don’t take photographs of the locals, holy shrines & temples unless they have clearly given their permission.
